UE5 Virtual Production Environments

 
 

City

City scene created for a VP bootcamp project.

Setup in UE5, streamed via the plugin Cesium, Google 3D tiles provide most of the background visuals for the buildings by providing a skyline view of London. A few buildings taken from the UE5 city sample project populate the fore ground. The Plugin Ultra Dynamic Sky completes the frame by adding volumetric clouds and sky.

City environment used in a shoot at XPLORE Production Park as part of the Virtual Production Bootcamp.

Lakes

Environment for VP based off Harrop Tarn in the Lake District.

Setup in UE5, The background mountain is streamed in via Cesium using bing maps. A landscape is used to hold the water body with foliage painted on top. Trees, ferns, etc are brough in from the Quixel Megascans library as are rocks and terrain.

Space Station

Using a gutted interior from a ‘mission to minerva’ asset, the interior has been replaced with some foliage to create a centrepiece while low resolution meta humans have been used to populate the surrounding area looping various animations from the UE asset store. UltraDynamic sky has been set to stars and a few asteroids made from Quixel MegaScans rotate in the background of space.
